Dr. Chee K. Ling, Chief Instructor and Renshikan Shihan, holds a
Fifth degree blackbelt in Karate and a Fourth
degree blackbelt in Iaido,
the art of Japanese Swordsmanship. He has been practicing Martial
Arts for 42 years. Dr. Ling started Judo in 1962 before practicing
Karate in 1970 and then continued to pursue Iaido
in 1987.
He has taught his four daughters all of whom reached the international
level in sport Karate. Further qualifications include attaining
National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP)
Level 3 and National A Level Referee status.
Dr. Ling serves the National Karate Association by representing them in
his capacity as a Director of the Canadian Olympic Association.
Rassamee Ling is
a Fourth degree blackbelt and Shidoin
(Instructor) in Renshikan Karate-Do. She
has studied karate for over 28 years, and has been National Blackbelt Kata Champion in
1988, 1989 and 1996. She has attained Level 2 in the National
Coaching Certificate Program (NCCP) and is a provincial A level referee.
Marshall Cheng holds a Third degree blackbelt
with over 25 years of karate experience. As former National champion he
represented Canada at the 1996 World Championships (South Africa), and the
1999 Pan American Championships held in Winnipeg. He was assistant
provincial team coach in 2003 for Karate BC.
Mee Lain Ling, Instructor holds
a Second degree blackbelt while practicing karate
for over 20 years. She has competed as
a Canadian National Team Member, placed fifth at the 1995 Pan American
Games, and received the title of Canadian National Blackbelt
Champion in 1990, 1992-95, and 1997. She has attained NCCP Level 1 and was the founding instructor at this
school when it was formed in 1993.
