Wagon-Lits Lx10 Sleeping Cars

These Sleeping Cars were constructed in 1929 for use on 'Le Train Bleu' (the Blue Train) which ran between Calais, Paris and Nice, on the French Riviera. The cars were built by the Metropolitan-Cammell Carriage and Wagon Co. Ltd., of Birmingham, England, and by Entreprises Industrielles Charentaises Aytre of La Rochelle, France.
The designation Lx10 refers to 'Luxe' (luxury) and 10 beds, each in a separate compartment. As the years went by, some of these cars had berths added to become Lx16 (4 x I and 6 x II), or Lx20 (10 x II)

The cars were numbered 3466 - 3555

Livery - Blue with white roof.
