( drums & percussion )| Song 14 | Very Last Song | This
track was the truly the
very last song on which we worked. It is incomplete and the
structure is haphazardly assembled, but I think it best guides one to
see where we (or most of the we) wanted to take the band. The blues and blues variations found in our early tracks such as Scrambled Eggs, Piggy, Soggy, Roadrunner, et al worked well to improve our skills, but some of us wanted something more adventurous; and I think this song was a step in that direction. Not all of us knew the direction in which were traveling, and you can hear Colin and Heath listening - while we are playing - for some hint as to where I AM planning to take in the song. VLS was being written as we played it. We were confused as to how the song would sound if we went in some particular direction - - very much like we were when we started at the age of 15. Here, at age 18, the future of our sound still mystified us all, but that concern was unnecessary as I, Colin and Heath split into 3 and went in very divergent directions. T A B, R I P. |
