THE DADUKOS

SONG 86

The DADUKOS is a band who attempt to celebrate an amalgam of melody and noise. Generally speaking, we fail formidably on the former and, on the latter, exceed our wildest ambitions.

SONG 86 was written at a time when the lure of football was giving way to the lure of orbs of a different texture entirely. The guitar was a new fascination as well -- as close to a bullhorn as I could find to pronounce this new and vexing alchemy of sexual stimulation, musical invention and ungovernable romantic schlock. As a result, this youth-inspired composition suffers severely from indiscriminant variations in tempo, tonality, stentorianality, and movement about the fret board from play to play to play.

Now, the aforenoted would have inspired me to 86 the song -- in the bin where you belong -- but for the brightly shining eyes of a girl who, upon hearing my playing it, said with some element of truthfulness, that's nice.

Thus, SONG 86 lives. And as the song suffers, so shall you suffer for the hearing of it.

Please Endure . . .
