New York City government is currently taking ideas regarding what to do with the land formerly occupied by the World Trade Center. Many of the submissions involve a memorial of some kind, to remind everyone of that horrible disaster and all the innocent lives that were lost. I have seen all kinds of WTC buttons, pins, banners, signs, etc, all saying "Never Forget" on them.
So, with all of that out there, why are so many lunatics demanding that the movie "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" have its name changed because it reminds them of the WTC disaster? Isn't that a good thing? I think so. If it isn't a good thing, shouldn't they be going after the people who make the pins and banners and web sites instead, or as well? If New York City (or anyone else) erects a memorial to the WTC disaster, will these same intolerant morons sue those responsible?
People are so stupid sometimes. Well, most of the time.

Ah, karma is such a wonderful thing. Well, perhaps Alan Ralsky doesn't think so. Heh heh.

Metroid Prime is an almost perfect game, although I did find a minor glitch, plus it crashed on me once. It's still more fun than you can shake a stick at.

I'm trying to salvage the programs I wrote on the Amiga so long ago. I've got an Amiga 500 but for some reason I seem to be missing my monitor cable. Which sucks.
Blimey, I need to remember to sleep every once in a while.

Ralph Klein is possibly the most evil person in Canada, surpassing even homophobe Stockwell Day.
Monday, October 28, 2002:
Yesterday was Spooky Dinner night and I brought my camera along. I've put the pictures up on the site, but I'm not sure how long I'll keep them here.
(November 2003: I took them down)

What do you do when you're sitting at home and have a few hours you feel like killing? Well, if you're me, which you're probably not, unless I'm reading my own site, you kill that time by meticulously creating pages of all the DVDs in your DVD collection, and then you link every single title to the corresponding page on the Internet Movie Data Base.
While there's no accounting for taste, bear in mind that I bought some of those DVDs because I felt like buying a DVD and nothing GOOD had been released at the time. So I do have a few stinkers in my collection.
I think I've got about 375 titles at the moment. Oh, good lord, it's 7:30 in the morning. Bedtime for Darrens...
Monday, October 21, 2002:
Well, technically it's still sort of Sunday-ish, since it's only about 12:08am.
I finally got the stupid make file working, once I had figured out the correct sequence of runes and incantations necessary to contain the beast that is make.
And now, since all my documentation is in a semi-finished state, and the dev system is working better than ever now, I think I'm going to treat myself to a late night movie. Yay! Movie!
Sunday, October 20, 2002:
Yet another all-nighter, trying to get this bloody make file to work without causing this cheapo version of make to assert. Terribly frustrating.
I think I'll have some toast, and then maybe some sleeps.
Wednesday, October 16, 2002:
I added links to review pages on GameRankings.com for some of the more recent games I've worked on. Check them out and see how well (or poorly) some of them were received by the critics.
I also added interesting links to screenshots and reviews for some of the older games I've worked on. Pele II got some rather harsh criticism. I'm glad I only wrote the front end.

My buddy Ryan drew a ridiculous caricature of yours truly, so I threw it on the page. Visit his site, Exclusive-Club.com. He hasn't updated it in ages, but the archived comics are stupid and funny. Just the way I like them.

Thank goodness I didn't lapse into a turkey coma from yesterday's feastery.
Well, the Vancouver Canucks will try to remain unbeaten tonight by hopefully thrashing the Calgary Flames (again) for their third win in a row. Go Canucks! Watch out for Iginla! Don't let him get to the children!
Update (10:30pm): Crap.
Sunday, October 13, 2002:
I am full of turkey. There is too much turkey inside me. In other news, I am also full of pumpkin pie.

I finally found just enough time to redesign my web site. Everything should be much easier to find now.
In other news, the Japanese version of Spyro: Season of Ice was recently approved by Nintendo for release. It should be hitting the shelves there pretty soon.
