It took approximately 6 months from design to the completion of our float home. My mother, with the help of an architect, spent many months on designing her house (around some of her furniture). The float home was constructed by International Marine Flotation located about 2 miles upriver from Marina Wes-del where my mother had purchased a water lot.
 
 
  
The house sits on the back of a large flatbed trailer perched on the edge of the giant boat launch.
