Teaching music is a great joy to me and I delight in the musical gifts my students return to me.  My rewards include seeing increased ease and facility at the instrument, better use of (sometimes limited) practice time and increased performance skills.

FLUTE:  With its history spanning the centuries, and the expressive nuances it can bring to a melody, the flute is one of the most rewarding and enjoyable of all the wind instruments.  From the God Pan to the Pied Piper, from Frederick the Great to Sir James Galway, the appeal of the flute is always with us.  I have been playing the instrument since the age of ten and am still exploring its magic and I love to teach others how to play.

PIANO:  Can ivory keys really open doors?  I know they can.  The ability to play the piano is a wonderful gift that keeps on giving.  Not only is it an essential foundation to the development of the whole musician, it can also prove to be a powerful springboard for other musical pursuits.

CELTIC HARP:  Learning to play the Celtic melodies that I love on an instrument so special has been pure enjoyment.  I love the feel of the strings and the immediate connection to an instrument shot through with magical history.  If you have also fallen captive to the spell of the strings, I can help you on your way.

THEORY: The study of theory is so much more than a hoop to jump through for Royal Conservatory practical examinations, it is the very bricks and mortar of our music making.  If you wish a deeper understanding of the music on your page or are preparing for an exam, I would be happy to help.  It's not as hard (or as dry) as you think!

If I can help you reach your musical goals, please contact me.  My studio is in Tsawwassen, British Columbia.
