Sunbonnet Sue and Sunbonnet Sam
Description & History
Sunbonnet Sue and Sunbonnet Sam are perennial favourites. These blocks were found already appliquéd and ready to piece in the cupboards of First United Church. The Ladner United Quilters pieced the twenty-five blocks into a wallhanging and two matching cushions with teal blue and red sashing, adding a border filled with Sunbonnet Sue & Sam's hats.
The hats in the blocks were hand embroidered and stuffed trapunto-style before quilting.
