Weddings at Ladner United Church

We are pleased to provide you with a beautiful wedding in a traditional, romantic setting, as well as an ongoing ministry in support of couples and families. We offer a loving Christian community to support you and your family beyond the wedding ceremony.

Our Wedding Policy

At Ladner United, we believe, every person Is a unique, loved creation of God, and that relationships are living things that require preparation and nurture.

As a congregation of the United Church of Canada, our ministers celebrate marriage as a Christian service of worship, in the context of a Christian community of faith, and our community is broad and accepting.

We are open to celebrating the marriage of: regular church-goers and those who rarely attend including:

We believe God intends loving relationships to be faithful, responsible, just, healing, and sustaining of the couple and those around them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we have to be members of Ladner United to be married there?

For a wedding service, it is not necessary to be a member.

Who will preside at our wedding?

One of our own clergy will be happy to preside at your wedding.

Do we need to take a marriage preparation course?

To prepare you for your lives together, it is a requirement that you attend pre-marital counseling or courses, and the minister can provide a list of courses offered nearby.

Are we allowed to photograph or videotape?

Picture-taking is permitted in the Church EXCEPT while the service is in progress. The photographer should speak to the minister and hostess about appropriate placement for photographs.

Can I have flowers & decorations in the sanctuary?

Flowers can be delivered one hour prior to the service and we will try to accommodate time for decorating the sanctuary.

What about confetti, rice etc.?

To protect our building and the environment, these are not to be used in the church or around the entrances.

Do we need to pay a deposit?

There is a $100 deposit payable at the time of booking.

Wedding Fees
Church Members: $460 (plus a donation for use of the church)
Non-Members: $660

A $100 deposit is required at booking and the full fee needs to be paid one month prior to the wedding.
