      Rolling Stock - the Work Cars

    The work cars were constructed from plans in an issue of Garden Railways  magazine. The frame is pine, stained with rubbing alchohol and india ink. The decking planks are wooden splints. The trucks and couplers are Bachmann ( if you look closely, yes the trucks are upside down - they fit better that way...). The boom swings and the winch works
    ( gearing was from a toy race car ). The barrel is a 35 mm film can - the ribs are elastic bands. The cars were constructed in a week out of frustration with having five or six projects  on the go and none even near completion. I needed something finishable. One day I will replace the couplers with link and pin.
