3) Canadian Sovereignty Issue: Going ballistic over Nanoose, August 15 Editorial, Coast Independent (1998, 1999 winner Canadian Community Newspapers Association Better Newspapers Competition)


4) Safety Issue: Lost & found Torpedo, Fall/Winter 1981, Sangster Island (see Map attached) While out sport fishing, Mr. Dafoe and a friend discovered a torpedo washed ashore in the small bay on the north-west side of Sangster Island, about 4 nautical miles outside the Whiskey Golf testing range. Measured approx. 14" in diameter, 25' long. Mr. Dafoe and his friend called the authorities who arrived shortly thereafter to retrieve the torpedo. "We were scared and we didn't touch it."
